Our investment strategy includes:
Emphasis on current income investments
Capital Point's investment strategy is to make interest-bearing debt investments, primarily focusing on senior subordinated debt with warrants. We also have the flexibility to invest capital in many other forms of structured debt and equity. Currently, we are exploring investment opportunities to deploy capital in the $5 - $20 million range; we will also consider participating in larger debt offerings.
A strong belief in diversification
Capital Point seeks to invest in a wide variety of companies, including manufacturers, service-oriented businesses, distributors, retailers and other specialty businesses across many industries. We are flexible to invest in many different types of transactions, including buyouts, refinancings, recapitalizations, growth, mergers, and acquisitions. We also have a broad geographic scope that includes the entire United States. Most of our transactions are focused on privately owned companies; however, we are also flexible to selectively invest in publicly traded companies.
Responsive and opportunistic investing
We take pride in our ability to rapidly assess new investment opportunities and quickly provide detailed feedback to borrowers and their advisors regarding our level of interest and general investment economics. Furthermore, with many years of working together, our senior management team is able to approve and close all investment opportunities in a timely manner.
Value-added portfolio management
During the past 20 years, we have executed over 75 private transactions totaling more than $1.0 billion of invested debt and equity capital. We have proven to be a value-added partner to our borrowers, fellow shareholders, and management teams. In the past we have worked with private equity sponsors, family owned businesses, mezzanine investors, senior bank lenders and a wide variety of intermediaries.
Capital Point seeks to be actively involved in each portfolio company and serve as a resource to assist with strategic and certain operational matters. Through our depth of experience, we are aware and focused on the challenges management teams face and we strive to be a positive element during trying economic periods. |
